Dr. Meldrum qualified from Edinburgh University in 1968 and worked in UK (various NHS posts and general practice), Norway (anaesthetics and general practice) and Ethiopia, S. Sudan and Nepal (Primary Health Care), before joining Dr. Downing in 1989 as a part-time associate based in Edinburgh.

He is a long-standing committee member of the British Society for Ecological Medicine and of the Scottish Group of the McCarrison Society for Nutrition and Health, as well as an associate member of the Norwegian Holistic Medicine Society.

Although visiting Nutrition Associates in York each month, he conducts his clinics from

Mulberry House, the largest holistic health centre in Edinburgh, with ready access to a wide range of other experienced therapists. He practises ecological medicine with a similar approach as Dr. Downing, embracing the same principles and offering many of the same therapies.
