Failed treatments, reactions becoming worse and new allergies appearing have often been traced to non-observance of these guidelines. To ensure the best possible response to each dose of EPD, do try to comply with them.
If in doubt ring us to check.
Do not have a dose of EPD if you:
- Are in the first five days of a cold, have any other infection or suspect that you might be developing one. Infections such as bronchitis which are already well on the way to cure may be all right; check with us.
- Think you might be pregnant.
- Have taken any pain killer like Aspirin or Paracetamol in the past three days. Do not take one for the next three weeks either.
- Have just been immunised. See table
- Are on any of the vitamins or drugs listed below.
- Have an appointment for dental treatment in the next three weeks.
- Are food allergic and have not dieted as instructed before the dose.
- Are allergic to candida and have forgotten your preliminary “gut preparation”.
- Are wearing scent or have recently put ointment of any kind near the place where the dose of EPD will be given (usually a forearm).
Summary of precautions
- Water Intake. The hormone (vasopressin) which reduces urine volume when you are thirsty also acts as a messenger in the immune system.
|
- During the first 6 days after EPD it can reverse the effect of treatment. Avoid this by drinking plenty of water throughout each day for the first week. A minimum of a pint 4 times per day is recommended. More in hot weather.
- Avoid allergens which upset you for at least 24 hours before EPD and 48 hours afterwards — the “critical 72 hours”. Avoid big doses of other allergens too. This means:-
- For the critical 72 hours avoid significant exposure to pollens, moulds, pets or dust. The purpose is to avoid lighting up hidden inhalant allergies.
- For the same period, keep to the essential minimum exposure to chemicals and fumes of all kinds including tobacco smoke and newsprint.
- Avoid drugs and vaccinations as below
- Avoid cosmetic products as below
- Diet: If you are known to be food intolerant you will diet as instructed by your doctor. If you or your doctor believe that you might be food sensitive or you have ever suffered from any of the illnesses listed below, it may be wise to follow a restricted diet for 24 hours before EPD and 24 hours afterwards. Unrecognised food allergy may be present in:-
Skin: Eczema. Urticaria. Angio-oedema.
Brain: Psychological depression. Migraine. Epilepsy.
Abdomen: Irritable bowel. Crohn’s disease. Ulcerative colitis.
Joints: All forms of arthritis.
General: Systemic Lupus Erythematosus
